Judy,

Allan was probably the son of Isaac Crook, no relation to Gen. George Crook. Allan had a son Isaac N. Crook, born 1876 in Falls City. Could that be Isaac Newton Crook and your grandfather just used Newton? Allan later went out to the King Co., WA area.
