My mother's maiden name was Ercel Viola Crook
the 2nd youngest of 16 children, born August22 , 1908.She was born and raised in and around Ripley, TN. Some of her brothers and sisters were Minnie Pauline, Ruth, Mattie, Florence, Horace, Atwood, Alva,Robert, Lilly,
Ada. Her father, my Grandfather was William Solomon"Buster" Crook and his father was George Madison Crook a civil war veteran who rode with Nathan Bedford Forrest.George Madison's Father was another William Solomon Crook, born 1800 in North Carolina , Now East Tenneessee .W.S. C. had a twin Sister
who married and moved to Arkansas. WSC was born in 1800, was the son of another Solomon Crook ,one of 4 brothers who migrated from Dinwidde Co Virginia to North Carolina just after the revolutionary war. This part of the Crook family lived in Virgina from about 1630 to 1780. Do you have any connection with my line of Crooks?
