Found your interest on the Crook family. I have recently begun researching the Crooks. I live in London, and my Crooks I have traced back to 1852, all in the London area. I cannot find them on any census returns to discover their place of birth. I am workinb on a theory that they may have come from Ireland in the 1840's, but my informant is rather old and unreliable.
