Hi Darlene:
My mother was the only surviving child of Emmett Mills and Clara Belle Crook. Her mother died shortly after giving birth to their second child, who died at birth.
Clara was the daughter of Frank V Crook and Sarah Bell Watts. Frank was the son of Dr Valentine Huff Crook and Susan M Swiney. Dr Valentine Huff Crook was the son of David Crook and Rebecca Adkins. Thats as far as I go back.
The information I have on Dr Valentine Huff Crook is as follows. b 22 Sep 1826 Palaski, Giles Co Tennessee d 20 Oct 1873 Rockpoint Missouri and is buried in Whiteners' Cemetery.
A book 'Civil War Soldiers of Madison Co Mo' I believe by Geraldine Sanders Smith, I don't have the info in front of me, indicates he enlisted on 7/1865 in the Madison Co with the Company B Missouri Militia. I think Union. The description given was 39 yrs old, 5'7" dark hair, blue eyes, fair complexion, married, farmer. I believe I got this info from the above book in the Farmington Library.

LDS AFN:36MW-06

Mary Ellen indicates she has the additional information on the Crook family.

Hope this helps.
