I am a Celtic Crook, Thomas 1698 Ireland, and I believe that being Irish per se in the 1500's-1600's or the normal Celt political-socio-economic class status precluded any coat of arms. A Scots Crook moving south who met with economic success in dominating England could have perhaps been granted a coat of arms. A cousin has our line connected bastardly with the English & Norman Royal house. Bastardness usually had negative consequences: non-acceptance, non-recognition.
