The only time I've seen minors owning property, it was inherited or given to them by a relative. Perhaps John (or his wife) had a relative who died and left property to John's children. It might be interesting to search the estate and deed records of some of the counties around Oglethorpe to see if Sally or any of the other children are named as heirs or grantees. So far, I haven't found anything like that, but I've only checked the published records.
