The name Cronin has undergone many variations in the time that is has passed since its genesis. In Gallelic it appeared as O"Cronin. This illustrious name was originally derived from the word
" cron" which meant brown or dark.
First found in County Cork, where they were seated from very ancient times, some say well before Wm the Conqueor, came to England 1066.

the above census is my connection. Mary Cronin - dtr of William married John Thomas Long - abt 1893, Camden Co, MO. They had 3 sons, Willard b 1895 - Leonard b 1897 and Everett b 1900. Mary died sometime soon after Everetts birth.
