Hi,
Margaret Crone, who married Anthony Welch, was my gg granny, so her nephew would be a great uncle to me (?). According to the LDS, Peter, Sr.'s wife's full name was Mary Sallors, film 897618. I have the Welch's as being from Prussia, and the Crone's from Hessen. Anthony and Margaret's daughter, Katherine, my g granny, married into the Irish Catholic Hacketts. They lived in Massilion for a while, went to Summit, and then back to Lorain.

Do you know when your Knapps might have come to the US? I would check the 1880, for all the Knapps in Stark county, if you know that that is where they settled. Since our Crones are related, it is possible that the Knapps were hanging out with the Welchs and Crones of this period. Let me know what you come up with.

Laura
