Dear David,
We made contact a while ago, I am searching for descendents of George Crone b. @1810 SC and Nancy Goodman Crone b. 1815 VA. I do not know WHERE they were in AL but most of their children were born in AL until about 1853 when they were in Van Buren Co. AR next door to Nancy Goodmans twin, Henry Goodman.
I am searching for them prior to 1860. I do not know WHERE or WHEN they married. I am from Henry Goodman and I keep hoping SOMEBODY knows something about Nancy Goodman because we have gone just about as far as we know to go. We do not know the parents names or any other sibling except Minerva Jane Goodman who married George Moore in Roane Co. TN and was also in Van Buren Co. AR after 1850. Minerva said she was from Cherokee Co. AL, Old Turkey Town (which is now in Etowah Co. AL). I have not located them on a census there.
Have you ever located a marriage for George Crone and Nancy Goodman during your search for Crone? I know my Henry Goodman married Charlotte Moore in Monroe Co. TN 1838 but her Moore family was from around Roane/Knox Co. TN after they came here from Ireland in the late 1700s. I think the Crones and Goodmans seemed to be traveling the same paths.
There is a Crone still in the Quitman, AR area and my cousin Mildred contacted the one who has place there but he insists his family is from TX and has never lived in the Quitman area before. Mildred told him that the desc. of George Crone moved to Texas but he says they are a different line he thinks.
I guess Crones are about as hard to trace as Goodman's. We always heard there was Indian in our line but could never locate it. Maybe the Goodman's were part Indian and that is where it comes from. If you come across the marriage license during your search I would really appreciate it if you would keep me in mind. I would assume George Crone married Nancy Goodman in the middle 1830s.
Any help or advice would be appreciated
