Thank you. I have recently read two short books by George Crompton Jr., "The Crompton Loom," about his father George and grandfather William, and "Mariemont," about his father's house in Worcester, Mass. Both were published within a few years of his death in 1953. In The Crompton Loom, the author mentions Samuel Crompton, but says that he is no relation. I can look up an exact reference, if you want.
As far as Crompton family information to be gleaned from these two books, I have in included it in my website at www.bryants.us .
