Hi.. I hope you still check this forum.I have always
had the reverse happen to me.Croley (in our family anyway)
has always been pronounced with the long O...but growing
up when i would say my name...everyone spelled it with a W
so..I began saying CROLEY- WITHOUT THE W.Huh! go figure!
anyway...I wonder sometimes in my ancestry line way back that there might have been a CROWLEY and when they
pronounced their name coming to the U.S. someone wrote CROLEY???? This is just a question of mine since I am just
beginning the long time consuming tracing of my family tree.
