Looking for information on Elizabeth Crofts born around 1812 in Harborough Magna, Warwickshire.
Married first to a ? Matchem and then, as a widow, to John Collier of Harborough Magna in 1845. It is from this line that I'm from ie their third son Sam.
I know nothing of her birth or death, not even a date for the death(?) of John.
1851 Rugby census shows an Elizabeth (widow) plus 3 sons in Rugby workhouse.
The family appears to be then split up.
Sam reappears in 1875 marrying in Rugby, and this is where it is confusing, his father (John) is listed on the certificate as a bookkeeper !!! Have I mixed up two families of the same names ? I can find no trace of Elizabeth.
Maybe your wills might shed light on around 1851 if Elizabeth had been left anything IF she was a widow at all. Confused ? I am

Maurice
