Hi,
I have George Palmer born Margate married to Sarah Bolden. They gave second Christian names to several of their children and included Bolden (not unsurprisingly), CROFTS and Thompson.
I am descended from one of their children, namely Robert Palmer, born Margate 1796. He married Elizabeth Bailey whose Mother was Elizabeth nee Mummery.
Can you enlighten me, from your research into the Crofts, as to the origins of the name in my Palmer forebears?
