Your Elizabeth may have been associated with an important aristocratic family based at Little Saxham Hall in Suffolk.
They were guardians of the Duke of Monmouth, who was Charles II's illegitimate son. The Hall was demolished in 1773. There are memorials to the Croft family in the local church.

I would like to more (in general) about the historical aspects of this family.
