Hello Heather

Not sure whether William Croft is any direct descendant of mine. My ggf was Arther Croft of Hurstville NSW. I seem to remember the family had connections around the Dorrigo area of NSW back in the 1920s - not sure about Tenterfield (I remember my grandfather talking about them being in the hotel industry and how some uncle had a carbuncle on his neck and my pa and his dad, Arthur, had to do a mercy dash to Dorrigo to help him out).

Arthur died of pneumonia in the early 1940s so don't know whether he had any siblings but I suspect he did. Arthur was in green grocery retail and had shops in Hurstville for many years. He was quite a local identity evidently with a street in the area being named after him - Crofts Avenue. He was married to Mary-Anne Sophia Lockyer.

Do you happen to have any more info on the Croft family who were in the Hurstville and Newtown area of NSW?
