I'm reserching my uncle's family and would be interested in any help forum members could offer.
William/Billy Croft was born 1905 in Belfast, Ireland and was buried in Birmingham 1967.
He married Gwendolen Winifred Haskins in Holywood, Co Down 1934. They had 11 children in Birmingham, England.
From the Irish 1901 & 1911 census William's parents were William (1858 - 1906) and Lizzie (b. 1871 Co Tyrone or Co. Down). I would like to know more about Lizzie but I only know they married about 1892.
William's siblings included Jane 1893, Margaret 1897 (may have married Thomas Henry Hall), Arthur 1899 and Henry 1901 (may have married Anne).
The family lived in 18 Broadway Street, Belfast and William senior was a bootmaker (1907 Street Directory). He was born in Scotland 1856-1859. He seems a good match to the son of Thomas Croft (b 1829 Dundee, Scotland) and Mary Hutchison (born about 1829). Thomas & Mary married 1853 Perth, Scotland and William was born 5 Oct 1858 in Dundee.
William Croft senior had siblings (born Dundee) John 1856, Mary 1861 and David 1865 - also Ann 1869 who was born in Barry, Angus.
If anyone could give any more details about William's family I would be very interested.
