Dear Pamela,
I don't know the answer to your question, but I do know that my 3g grandfather, David Crockett Guill, named his daughter Benton as a middle name -- she said because it was a family name.I have been trying to figure out the Benton-Guill connection ever since. This line of Guills were known to have lived in Henry Co TN and Calloway Co KY in the 1830's, in Williamson Co IL by 1850 or so, and came on to Fannin and Van Zandt Co TX later in the 1800's.These Guills probably had close kin in Wilson Co TN and probably originally came from Prince Edward Co, VA.We do not know the name of David Crockett Guill's parents for sure, although one may have been a Thomas Guill who had married a Rice in Wilson Co TN.If any of these names or times and places sound familiar, please e-mail me.Thanks!
