David Crockett Henry Myers
I am doing research on Wagon Master Henry Myers from Baltimore. In Buddy Levy's book about Davy Crockett, Wagon Master Henry Myers from Baltimore was David Crockett's friend.
I am looking for a connection that Henry Myers might be more then friends. It seems Henry Myers' son Henry Myers jr moved to Pittsburgh from Baltimore in 1747 to make wagons under government contract for the War with Mexico. He is buried next to the Gallatin family of Albert Gallatin who lived in and around Pittsburgh during the Whiskey Rebellion of 1794.
I know Henry Myers was from Baltimore because of four Myers children who were killed in the Baltimore fire of April 14 1857 are buried here in Pittsburgh.Cemetery records show these four children were shipped from Baltimore to Pittsburgh to be placed in the Myers lot next to the Gallatin's.
One of the other children was married into the Lewis Riverboat family of Pittsburgh who are married into the riverboat Mike Fink family who are married into the Myers Iron Works family of Slate Creek Kentucky.
William Myers of the Slate Creek Kentucky Iron Works Myers family was married to Caroline Grundy, the granddaughter of George Grundy who is a wagon master in Pittsburgh.George Grundy's son was Felix Grundy, the Attorney General under President Martin Van Buren. If you read Buddy Levy's book, Martin Van Buren connect's back to David Crocket and the Disney family of Pittsburgh. A Lt Disney was at Braddock's defeat in Pittsburgh July 9 1755.
Warner Brothers Movie Studio was located in Pittsburgh from about 1905 to 1920.The studio move to Burbank California for better weather around 1921.
I believe this is more then a coincidence.I have been looking for other connections to David Crockett, the Disney family and the David O Selznick family who was also from Pittsburgh.David's father Lewis Selznick worked for Warner Brothers Studios in Pittsburgh. Carmel Myers, the original star of Ben Hur, was recorded to be a cousin to Louis B Mayer.Louis B Mayer daughter is married to David O Selznick, the son of Louis Selznick from Pittsburgh.
