Frances Crockett & Barnabus Pulliam
"Cousin" Julie:
Elizabeth and I are both cousins, although distant. Our ancestor, Alexander Crockett, was a
brother of your Hamilton. This line is not covered in Kathryn's "Crockett Cousins".
Your Frances Crockett, daughter of Hamilton and Frances Berrisford m. 5 Aug 1790, Mercer
Co., KY, married Barnabus Pulliam, 18 Jun 1832 in Franklin Co., KY.
Frances siblings were: Alexander M., John Berrisford and Lucinda.
Deed Bk 2/372B in Franklin Co., KY proves the family of Hamilton. Obviously Hamilton had
died by Feb 1837 and the deed lists his heirs as Alexander, John B.and his wife Parthonia,
Charles Morris and his wife, Lucinda (Crockett), Barnabus Pulliam and his wife, Frances
(Crockett). Alexander and Frances were still in Franklin Co., KY at that time but John B. and
Lucinda had moved to Kanawa Co., VA (now W. VA). I have quite a bit of data on John B.'s
descendants but nothing on your line.
Hamilton had a brother William whose son, John R. married Betsy Bohannon, 31 May 1815, Franklin Co., KY.Is this part of your family?
Hamilton was born in Pr. Edward Co., VA. He was the son of Wiliam and Agnes Ritchie
Crockett who both had died before 1769 at which time Hamilton and his siblings were all bound
out to their Ritchie uncles. Original records can be found in Pr.Edward Co., VA.
