My great grandmother was Mary Melissa Crockett, who married William Hill. They lived in Burnet County, Texas, and had seven children: Jasper Muller, Rebecah Zilphia Myrtle, John Lee, Frederick, Sandy, Stella Joanna (or Joanna Stella, my grandmother)and Bernice (called Jack).
Mary's brother was William Crockett, who wrote a letter to my grandmother describing the connection between our family and Davy Crockett. According to him, his grandfather was a first cousin of Davy Crockett, and the two played together as boys in Tennessee.
If anyone has any information about Mary Melissa and William Crockett, please let me know!
