LUBONOVIC's in Ohio come from Zumberak (perhaps Kostanjevac) region of Croatia. Original spelling is LJUBANOVIC. I have a very good friend, who accompanied me on my Heritage Tour to Croatia in 2007. I suprised him by going to his ancestors birth region!

Of course Mary was a Croatian actress or perhaps more properly a Croatian-American... Croatian is an ethnicity and American is a Nationality or Citizenship.

Here are Eli (Ilija in Croatian) and Barbara (Bara, Barica or Barka in Croatian) as found in the 1910 Youngstown census According to the census she bore 3 children and they had been married for 9 years They lived on East Federal St, where many Croatian immigrants lived and not far from Sts. Peter and Paul Croatian Church. Have you checked with Father Joe at the church to see what they may have for records?

Name       Age

And 1920 census this time living on Juliana St in Youngstown
