Stefan BORTAS of Samobar, Croatia in 1902; in Chicago in 1908

I'm trying to find Croatian background of Stefan "Steve" BORTAS. His naturalization papers say he arrived in Baltimore on "Barbarossa" May 28 1902 and was from Samobar, Croatia. Have not found proof of any of that. Brothers Ivan and George BORTAS in Chicago in 1910.

Steve BORTAS married Barbara RUBINIC (a recent Croatian immigrant) in Chicago Dec 1908. (I have marriage license) Have not found proof of her immigration. Her brothers Steve, Ivan & Frank RUBINIC in Chicago for a time.

Steve & Barbara BORTAS moved to Eagle River, Wisconsin abt 1920. George BORTAS went w. them for a time. Ivan BORTAS returned to Croatia.

I have Steve BORTAS' 1939 Wisconsin d.c. No mention of his parents' names.
Can anyone suggest where else I may look to find his or Barbara's roots in Croatia?
Thank you,
Ginger
