SIMON II BRATULIC (1603-1611) Croat from the Istrian townlet Sv. Petar u Sumi. Head of the Paulite order since 1593. Brought the Society of Jesus to Zagreb and therefore founded high-school education in Croatia. He had fought to obtain the independent religious legislation in Croatia. The warrior. Frankopan wrote that he preferred the sword above the rosary. He got drowned in the swollen river on his way to the convention in Bratislava.
