Mag, I am a desc of Susannah Cole, oldest dau of John Franklin & Lucy. Could you share the pic of him with
me? Crittenden are hard to find. I have "COLE FOOTPRINTS" about our line if you are interested.
Also have some early stuff on the Critts in St Helena. Not much. Problem is with the really early stuff, La w
was part of old Spanish West Florida. All of the vital recs were sent to Havana when the French took over
that part of La. Lucky us. What I have are old crt records that calls Jeremiah, Bartley & maybe Tom Crittenden
"outlaws, nere do wells & mean." Seems that they beat up the surveyor guy who had been sent to the
swamp to try to mark off some sort of property lines. Sound like "free spirits" to me. You DO know that they
were Indians. Cherokee, I think, Choctaw also in St Helena Parish at that time.
