Dear Kalie,
Ours is a family spread all over the States,my branch
comes from Nova Scotia,and before that Conn,and Mass
then known as the Mass Colonies.The " Family " originated in England,and came to these shores in the 1600's.Some came to the Mass Colonies and some to Virginia Colonies.They are very prominant in government,and a couinty is named after
the Crittenden who wrote the Crittenden Compromise,in the hope of avoiding the Civil War,so much for him.In short ,if you know what part of the country Stant came from you should begin your search there.Good Luck
