Brenda I have had a tough time with my CRITTENDEN family because my William CRITTENDEN and his brother Harry were orphaned in Indianna. But I finally found my lead with George CRITTENDEN and Nancy Jane Henry married in 1853. I found Nancy Jane on the 1860 census in Johnson Co. Indianna with two boys. William and Issac H. both under 5 years old and no father. George was the son of Richard Hazelwood CRITTENDEN Jr. and Rachel SINGER. This family came from Virginea and moved into Kentucky. I know they lived in S.C. also. George deserted his family and this is the story my papa use to tell me. My greatgrandfather was William CRITTENDEN and he was raised in Indianna by a postal worker and he ran away and join the circus. I could not find him from after the 1860 census until he came into St. Clair Co. Alabana and married Elizer Lucas. I know that TUCKERS married into this family and they also moved into Alabama. So we are cousins.
