Crittenden, K&Q Co. VA, 1700s

I am researching the Vass family of Essex County, VA. In doing so, I came across some Crittenden information that I hope may be helpful to someone else. This is based on several sources including a chancery case in Middlesex County, VA, the will of Samuel Shepard of King and Queen County, VA also proved in Essex County, and a 1783 census of King and Queen County.

From this, it appears that a John Crockford died testate in K&Q where his will was dated 3 Jul 1757. He had several children including a daugher Mildred who married first Samuel Shepard of K&Q. Mildred married second John Townley. Samuel Shepard died 9 Nov 1751 leaving several children including a daughter Frances who married Richard Crittenden. It appears this Richard Crittenden was the son of an earlier Richard Crittenden also from King and Queen. Richard and Frances (Shepard) Crittenden had several children including the following show in a 1783 K&Q census: John, Elizabeth, Frank, Richard and William.
