My great great grandfather was Oliver Alexander Crittenden of Americus GA. He was a Captain in the Georgia Militia during the Battle of Atlanta and wounded twice. We are supposedly distantly related to John J. Crittenden of KY, but I don't have my family tree handy to find the exact relationship.

Oliver A's older brother Cinncinatus was a Georgia State Senator who voted against sessession. He later moved to Alabamba and was made a Col. of his county militia.

My branch of the family is descended from Richard Crittenden, who appears in 1674 in the Virginia head rights. I'm trying to find info on where in England he came from. If anyone knows, I'd greatly appreciate any info.
