I'm new on the web and noticed your inquiry. I've been doing quite a bit of Crittenden family research which has taken me back to before 1700 with a Crittenden and before 1620 through marriage in America. John Jordan Crittenden had two sons, Generals on both sides of the war. His brother Thomas Turpin Crittenden had a son Thomas Turpin, who became a Union General, who was my great grandfather.
