Information came from a family history prepared by Homer Ross Crihfield, who was the s/o John Philip, s/o Philip Fonner, s/o Philip, s/o Arthur. He listed Absalom with the children of Arthur Crihfield but, after a review of other various internet sites, this may not be correct. The information about William Crihfield's birth in Wales in 1705 was included in this history and came from another descendant. Most of the information collected by Homer correlates extremely well with information gathered from various Crihfield/Critchfield sites we have run across. The very early generations of the family are somewhat hazy. At any rate, I am connected to the Crihfield family through Philip Fonner Crihfield and wife Mary Ann Hickman's daughter Jemima. She was the sister of John Philip from whom Homer descended.
