My adoptive mother was Cleo Mary Critchfield Rudkin, born in Wellston Oklahoma March 1, 1907. Married in Oklahoma City in 1928 to Peter Dare Rudkin born December 14, 1896 in Superior Iowa.
My Mother's parents were Edward Leroy Critchfield, born in Russell Co., Kansas, @1878 married to Mary Finley born near Marais de Cygne, Kansas @ 1881. Edward was born of Angeline Catherine O'Keeffe (unmarried, father was rumored to be a Canadian, Phelan). Edward was later adopted by a local farmer Joshua Critchfield after marrying Angeline. Joshua was a widower with several children: Percy, Ira, Guy, Edith,Myrtle, Ida Ruth, Arthur Hiram, Esther and Archie Bruce.(Those are the only names I can remember: there were about 12 or 13.) My mother's siblings were Hazel (dec.) (m. Cletus Williams,divorced and m. Gene York); LeRoy F.(dec)(nickname "Buster"), Winnie (dec.)(m. Frank Hall), Wanda (dec.)(m. Frank Worley), Dee Vernard(nickname Dee), Wayne(died at age 10). The cousins with whom I remain closest are "Buster's" sons Edward LeRoy Critchfield, 511 W. Burt, Minco, OK 73059 and Roy A. Critchfield, 201 Athena, Troup, TX 75789-1454. One of my grandfather's sisters relatives is also on the internet Jo Ann Vaughn Hutson, Rosamond, CA (ajsent@gte.net) Haven't written her yet but intend to do so very soon.
