Col. James T. Critcher was married 2 times;
His first wife was Elizabeth "Betsy" (J. or C.) Roden; they were married on June 22, 1830, in Blount County, AL - Harriett Wheeler(?) was his second wife (they married on July 4th, 1858) -

Known children from his first marriage:
Sarah E(lizabeth) b ~1833, AL
(md. Thomas C. Hale in 1854)
Mary Jane b. March, 1835, AL
(md. John Crawford Coleman in 1855)
James P. (b. ~1839, AL)
(md. E. R. Phillips in 1856)
John M. (b. 1845, AL)
(md. Carrie Minatt in 1868)
Charles G. (born ~1851, AL)

Known children from his 2nd marriage:
Richard "Dick" (b. ~1866-1868, AL)
Anna "Annie" (b. ~1868-1869, AL)
Buck (b. ~1869/1870, AL)
Dido (female) (b. 3/15/1871, AL)
Martha (b. ~1876, AL)
Ira (female) (b. ~1878, AL)
Fenton (b. 11/30/1879, AL)

*One other possible child: Rebecca (md ~1867) -

His obituary says he "was raised in Fayette County, NC"(?) - and on the 1880 census, he lists the birthplace of both his mother and father as "Virginia"...

I have Alabama census information on James Critcher from 1830 to 1880, and will EMAIL you privately with it and my other notes.
