From my research and the even greater research of my 6th cousin 1x removed,I can prove several things about the Account Book and can disprove others.
The Crist family did not set up camp along the Monongahela River. They were on Patterson's Creek.
I have documentation that Nicolaus Heinrich Crist, Sr. who was born in 1716, died prior to November 24th, 1774, not 1783 as the Account Book suggests.
I possess a great deal of land records for Nicholas Heinrich Crist, Jr. of 1740(Strasburg)and some for his brother John Michael Crist Sr. of 1746 (The Hermitage). I also have the marriage bond record for Nicholas Jr., and his last wife Sarah Doud and a copy of the actual Appraisal of Nicholas Jr.'s, estate after his death.
I also possess proof that Nicholas, Jr. was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Yohogania County militia in 1778 and also served as a juror. I can also prove George Heinrich Crist, Sr. born in 1744, was commissioned in Yohogania County as an Ensign in 1778 (making both soldiers in the Revolutionary War regardless of whether they saw combat; in both instances, the last name is spelled Christ). I have also seen the index record proving John Michael served 1781-1783 in a militia in Pennsylvania in the 7th Battallion as a Private 6th class (They misspelled John Michael's last name as Criss). Now, the Account Book does say the brothers were in the War back in 1776, but so far I cannot prove that. I can prove George Heinrich Crist, Sr. served under General George Rogers Clark for a total of 2 months and a few days in 1782.
The Account Book mentioned a dropped court case. I can prove that actually took place in 1787.
I can prove the birth of Nicholas George Crist of 1790 as listed in the Account Book and the same for others mentioned after 1790 in the Account Book. I have a photo of the headstone Nicholas George and his wife share in an Indiana cemetery. I can also prove Nicholas George's marriage to Nancy Biggs in December 1809.
The events of the New Madrid Earthquake and the Pigeon Roost Massacre mentioned in the Account Book are historical fact. There is a memorial marker at Pigeon Roost and a family reunion is held yearly for descendants of those who were survivors and who were slain there. My uncle attended one such reunion.
Most of the documentation I have put on my Ancestry.com page (Crist Family Tree).
