hello, melinda
I see that you got my message,on sam.this is lcrist@columbus.As of the 1860 census,I have samuel age 44,wife margaret 40,maiden name(myers).son milton age22,fought for the union army, captured an imprisoned at andersonville, day before he was to be released,he died,he is buried there, with the rest of the union soldiers.Next come sarah e.,age19.Ervin,age 17,he to fought in the civil war as well, listed as 2 tours of duty, with companyI,43 reg't,ohio infrantry.I have his pension papers.he married samantha stansberry, and later moved to henry co.,mo.samantha died dec.26,1910.both are buried at blairstown mo.ervin remarried aug.,16,1913 to rebecca j. cole.before i forget.ervin had 1 son, charles christ/crist.he was born june 7,1877.no other listing of children,to ervin, and samantha.ervin died june 6,1921.next comes barbara e,age15,simon p.,age13,amos,age 11,josina,age8,margaret,age6,israel w,age4,my samuel w.crist age just born that year.samuel sr.,remarried after margaret died,to francis hanaway.they had 1 child john t. crist.as far as i know samuel sr.,father is simon crist of fairfield co.to further complicate this,i believe philip, abraham, john, and william are all brothers,to simon.its awful funny that these people all arrive,to this area, from 1804,to 1811.first starting with john, buying land,in 1804,stating that he resided in berks co.,penns.fairfield co.,was part of washington co,and ross co.perry co.,was part of fairfield co.this is were i found philip crist.some other crist disagree on this, because they cannot find a correlation,as to them being all brothers.after simon died,i found a letter dated 1853,to william christ washington co.,ohio,or pa.very hard to read.simon also could of gone by the name of samuel,or simon samuel.also have land record for simon crist june 1,1811,patent no:1211,section 23 and35,township14n,range20w.i hope this gives you a little info, and to cindy as well.e-mail me if you can,lcrist@columbus.rr.com,orlwilcox@columbus.rr.com.or write 6188 brushwood blvd.hilliard,43026. sincerely larry crist.
