I'm also descended from Abel Crisp & Susanna Jarrell(s)
through their son Carroll (Carrell) Crisp who marr
18 FEB 1831 in Floyd Co KY, Elizabeth Click; their son
Sylvester D. Crisp marr 30 MAR 1854, Morgan Co KY to
Levisa Whitt; etc.
Don't know as much as you do re: Abel Crisp, but have a
little re: Susanna Jarrell, nicknamed "Sukie" - dau of
William Jarrell (b Craven Co NC c. 1750) & Susannah Parks,
who marr 03 JAN 1770, I think in NC, & later moved to
Sandy Hook, (now) Elliott Co KY. One source (Elliott Co
History - compilation of family histories submitted by
residents & descendants, so of variable reliability) says
that Susanna Parks was a Cherokee, and my grandmother (now
dead many years) remembered family stories that her grand-
father Sylvester Crisp (noted above) visited "Indian
Territory" (unspecified) years back to visit relatives etc.
Census records do show that Carroll Crisp & family moved to
Arkansas (where some of their kids were born) but returned
to Morgan Co KY prior to 1850 census.
