Linda,

I didn't have copies of either of my great grandparent's death certificates. However, I've just located both Margaret Jane (Peggy) Wynn Crisp's and Andrew Columbus Crisp's death certificates online through the Missouri Secretary of State Office's website.

Peggy's death certificate is at:
http://www.sos.mo.gov/TIF2PDFConsumer/DispPDF.aspx?fTiff=/archives/DeptofHealth/Death/1950/00035999.TIF&Fln=1875467.pdf

Unfortunately, I noticed that Peggy's son, Nolan Crisp, who submitted her information, listed her parents incorrectly, as George and Lucy Terry "Crisp", rather than George Wynn and Lucy (Terry)Wynn. The birth date calculation looks correct, since I had that as May 27, 1870.

Andrew Columbus Crisp's death certificate is listed incorrectly on the index as "Andrea" Columbus Crisp and having died in Springfield, Greene Co., MO (Springfield is probably correct):

Their son, Walter F. Crisp, didn't know the full name of his paternal grandmother, Martha "Gerty" Yates and the birth date as Mar 2, 1860. However, the September 11, 1860 Census showed Andrew's age as 2 and the June 8, 1880 Census listed his age as 21 - I haven't been able to locate the family in the 1870 Census. And, the tombstone lists his birth date as Mar 2, 1859 ... which, I think is probably correct.

Also, if you need a photo of A. C. and M. J. Crisp's headstones, or have any other questions, please just let me know.

Stan Radford
