Dr. John Hancock Crisp b. 1799 Caswell Co., NC, d. 1888 Brazil, South America, lived in Columbus, Tx during the Civil War. After the war, he and children by his second wife, Mary Kennon "Polly" Smith 1807-1848, left Texas to resettle in South America along with many other U. S. families. His son, Alexander Smith Crisp b. 1841, had (m) Virginia Hester in Columbus, Colorado Co., Tx and they went to Brazil. They had children. She died in Brazil and correspondence indicates that Alexander sent one or more children back to the U. S. to family here. Don't know whether to her family or some of his relatives. Does anyone know what happened to those Crisp children? And who were Virginia's parents?
