Death of Miss. Mattie Cripps
The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa
Thursday, December 18, 1907
A message was received here Wednesday, conveying the sad intelligence of the death of MATTIE CRIPPS which occurred Tuesday, at the home of MR. and MRS. ELMER ROWLAND near Hemingsford, Neb., after a short illness with hemorrhage
of the stomach. She left Chariton only a week ago today, for Boulder, Colo. where she expected to spend the winter with her aunt, MRS. SETH WEST, after a short visit with friends at Hemingsford. MR. and MRS. CRIPPS left Tuesday
evening for that place in response to a message that she was dangerously ill but did not learn of her death until they arrived.
The remains will arrive in Chariton on No. 2, Friday night. The many friends of MISS CRIPPS will learn of her death with deep sorrow and regret.

MRS. SETH WEST of Boulder, Colo., and her sister, MRS. KNIGHT, who recently went from here, are expected tomorrow on No. 6 to be present at the funeral of their niece, MISS MATTIE CRIPPS.
