Grippen family

I'm so glad I found this page! My grandmother's maiden name was Grippen. Her father Thomas and his brother William were orignally from Saratoga or Saratoga Springs, NY. They moved to Bridgeport, CT founded several metalworking companies, the most successful of which was the Bridgeport Malleable Iron Works. William built a spectacular home overlooking the water. his next door neighboor was none other than P.T. Barnum. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who knows more about this branch of the family, I have more information to share.
