Do you have information on any Crippen in Vermilion Co., IL., 21 Dist. pg.348,? dwelling 570 ?
In a newsletter from the Crippen/Grippen Journal April/May/June, 1996 , Ms. Logan listed census of 1850 with names. These were on the census from V. C. , IL.
Jesse 23, Sarah Ann 17,Ruth 65, Samuel 39 , James 37,Jacob 25 and Josiah 23. Sam ,James. Jacob and Josiah were listed as "idiotic".
My husbands great-great grandfather ( maybe?) was born in Ohio as were all of these people although Ruth( ? mother) in MD. I have been unable to find his family in Ohio. His name was D.C. Crippen. He was on the 1850 census from MS.age 36. Trail stops but great-grandfather's names was Dee C. Crippen born in LA. around 1851. I would appreciate if you have any material connected to this family, before 1850 to let me hear from you. Thanks in advance.
