Hi John,
Here is what I found.
Elijah Crippen in Cherry Valley, Otsego, New York 1830 census. It has him with 1 boy 5 to 10, 1 boy 10 to 15, 1 man 60 to 70, 1 girl 5 to 10, 1 girl 10 to 15, 1 woman 50 to 60.
Hope this helps.
I know what you mean about wishing they would have started listing children's names on the census's before 1850. It would have really helped me find my John A. Crippen's parents. By the way, my John A. Crippen had a son named David Gilbert Crippen, so I have wondered about a connection somewhere there too, but my John A. was born in 1820 in Cayuga Co, NY.
