Crippen Family Genealogy Forum

If you are a descendent of David Crippen 1748/49-1823/24 and his wife Electa Hopkins, or of his ?nephew? Samuel Crippen 1782 - post 1830 and his wives Ruth Tuttle or Sarah Fitchett; you may be interested in an event being held this year in Port Hope Ontario Canada. On June 07/08 the landing of the first settlers (Jun 07 1793) in Durham County is being re-enacted, complete with tall ship and appropriately costumed people. All and sundry are welcome of course, but Port Hope is especially anxious to see, meet & greet descendants of all the families who lived in Hope Township, Durham County, Newcastle District, Province of Upper Canada during the 1793 to 1813 era. Several families are planning to use this occasion as a sort of family reunion. If you are interested and wish more information, contact the poster of this message and if you are unsure as to whether or not you are a descendent - same thing goes, I'll try and help you on that matter too.
