I was born in 1956 and grew up in Cerro Gordo. I was the son of Ira Cripe. I remember as a little boy visiting once in a while with a Omar Cripe. I "Think" his wife was Nettie. Do you know if your Omar worked with rocks and cement? The Omar I remember built all kinds of objects such as chairs and even an elephant that stood about 5 ft tall. He also had various small steam engines. I have a picture of him driving one in the 1955 Centennial CG parade. I have not found a direct connection as a relative between his family and mine, but all Cripe's are related and we must be cousins far removed. I have pictures of all Cripe graves in the Cerro Gordo Cemetery. I will look at them tonight and see if I have Omar and Nettie. I'll get back to you.
