Nicol GRAHAME was a Lieutenant in the 90th (Perthshire) Regiment (British Army). He fought in the Crimean war 1854-55 and was wounded in the storming of the Redan at Sebastopol.
He was killed in action during the Indian Mutiny during fighting with the first relief column a short distance from the residency at Lucknow. He was in his early 20s when he was killed, and his death had quite an impact on our family. We preserved many of the letters that he wrote home.
New website with (ongoing) transcription of letters.
