Is it possible to seach Crimean soldiers online?

I'm trying to confirm whether or not the family stories of my great grandfather enlisting during the Crimean War are true. His name was Andrew Macaulay, (I've seen his last name spelled McCauley, Mc Cauley, Macaullay). He was born in Scotland in 1839. I have done a little bit of looking but it's very unclear to me if I'm able to search for his service online or not. Does anyone know if this can be done?
