A very useful website & a question...

Hello & Happy Holidays to All:

I recently began to research a Crimean medal and ran across this website that has an immense list of those killed, wounded and DoD in the Crimean War. Just scroll down a bit to the desired headings. (Apologies if this is old news)

http://www.old-merseytimes.co.uk/militarymain.html

Now........the man I am trying to research was named Goodburn Mason, 30th Regt. on his medal. The medal rolls confirm his entitlement to the Alma & Inkermann bars, and that he died at the Crimea.

My problem is that I have not been able to find this man on any British census in any way shape or form, and he is not on any of the lists furnished in the link above.

It is my contention that he possible enlisted using his middle & surnames, which leaves me at a loss to ascertain his date or place of birth.

Would anyone have any suggestions that might assist me.

Many thanks.
