Medals and George Oxford b.1823 Sturminster Marshall, Dorset.

Does anyone have a list of soldiers and civillians who served in this war. My ancestor George Oxford was, according to family stories, supposed to have been involved in this war. I don't know where to look or do I have to go to Kew Record office in London? Thank you.
