Hello Lawrence, Thank you so much for your posting. This is unexpected news about our great-great grandfather, James Byrne. The family did move to Fort Toronto sometime in the early 1860's. We do not have a sure date on that yet. We have information on his grown children who were married in Toronto so we know the whole family moved there. This is where we hit one of our brick walls. So, thanks for helping out and adding another clue to his military history. Is your book available for sale? I will search for it on Amazon.com. If you run across any other information on James Byrne, I hope you'll let me know. Thank you again for posting. Sheryll
