Thank you for this information and your suggestions. I have to go back and post some information about Jonathan Davidson, as I found out that he is not my daughter's (adopted) direct ancestor. However, I was very intrigued about this particular man and still would like to know what happened to him. Of course if his only son (William Davidson) died at an early age Jonathan would have no desc's who would be interested in him. I just thought it odd that he was listed as a soldier and then never turned up again. I have a hunch he died in a battle or of disease. What a challenge it would be to find out for sure and if he was entitled to a medal to somehow make sure someone in his family line knew that.

Nora
