John Patrick Martin served under the command of Captain Kepler at Sebastopol aboard the St. Jean De Acre, the first 101 gun ship launched at Plymouth. Fought in the Battle of Alma and received a madal from Queen Victoria.
Born in Ireland in 1835 he came to Sydney Australia aboard the HMS Iris when she was sent to relieve the HMS Juno. He married in Sydney and had a family of 9 children. My question is what crew records are available for these ships if any? My info came from Newsapeper interviews given by John Patrick Martin.
